Subsea Systems Engineer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Company`s Management System.
  • Provide technical expertise for subsea systems engineering.
  • Ensure that engineering and construction of subsea systems is performed in accordance with project standards and functional specifications.
  • Follow-up contractors engineering, construction, testing and commissioning activities for subsea systems.
  • Provide technical expertise for design, fabrication and installation engineering.
  • Develop, review, and maintain specifications for the subsea CO2-injection system.
  • Cooperate with the SPS Company Representative and SPS follow up team to ensure effective communication, coordination of relevant interfaces and elevate areas of concern and propose improvements and mitigating actions.
  • Provide timely input to Contract management processes such as changes, TQ’s, NCR’s, VO’s, VOR’s, document reviews, cost & scheduling etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of subsea tender documents, tender evaluation and contract awards.
  • Participate and contribute in safety review meetings (HAZID, HAZOP), audits, verification and design reviews etc.
  • Participate and contribute in project risk workshops. Identify and follow up relevant risks and opportunities with corresponding actions.
  • Provide input to Basis of Design as required.
  • Provide input to schedule planning and cost estimating in own area.
  • Prepare relevant parts of decision support packages.
  • Assist with the development of operating manuals and ensure that the manuals relating to subsea systems are produced with an acceptable quality and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that relevant technical documentation and tagging (LCI) is updated, correct and accessible.
  • Travelling to Contractor’s sites is expected. Offshore travel is expected.

Technical and Personal Skills

  • University degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience with subsea projects, preferably with both operators and contractors.
  • Track record in subsea projects of both design aspects as well as construction/installation experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Have detailed understanding of subsea systems including engineering management, system design, barrier management, system integrity, development of safety critical documentation, system testing, follow-up of analysis scope, subsea operation, and subsea interventions.
  • Deep insight into system design and interactions with other subsea work packages such as structures, well head, x-mas trees, control system, umbilical, and tie-in.
  • Have a general understanding of disciplines relevant for subsea system, such as flow assurance, process engineering, technical safety, valve design, well integrity, well head fatigue, reliability, materials, marine installation, D&W, HSEQ, mechanical completion, and commissioning.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of relevant contractors and the latest market developments.
  • Be familiar with typical design codes relevant to engineering, design, construction, installation, and operation of subsea systems.
  • Good knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and requirements relevant for NCS.
