Sr. Subsea Control System Engineer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for concept development, engineering and construction of subsea control systems
  • Ensure that engineering, construction and maintenance of control systems is performed in accordance with standards and functional specifications
  • Follow-up contractors engineering, construction, testing and commissioning activities within subsea control systems
  • Provide input to the project surveillance plan and perform surveillance according to agreed plan
  • Provide technical expertise for design, fabrication and installation engineering assisting in field development
  • Participate and contribute in safety review meetings (HAZID,HAZOP),audits, verification and design reviews etc. 
  • Participate and contribute in project risk workshops. ldentify and follow up relevant risks and opportunities with corresponding actions
  • Cooperate with the SPS Company Representative and SPS follow up team to ensure effective communication, coordination of relevant interfaces and elevate areas of concern and propose improvements and mitigating actions
  • Ensure correct and adequate use of project tools like PCC, CMS and PlMS and that timely response to actions is provided
  • Provide subsea control system expertise support to internal and external project review activities
  • Plan and execute miner studies and modifications projects
  • Provide input to Basis of Design as required
  • ldentify and follow-up TQP’s and qualifications as required
  • Provide input to schedule planning and cost estimating in own area
  • Prepare relevant parts of decision support packages
  • Assist with the development of operating manuals and ensure that the manuals relating to subsea control systems are produced with an acceptable quality and in a timely manner
  • Consult with control system adviser if required for a common Company strategy
  • Develop and implements subsea control system philosophies
  • Provide subsea control system expertise to the subsea operation team and supporting the operation and maintenance of the Subsea Production Systems
  • Ensure that relevant technical documentation (LCI) is updated, correct and accessible
  • Travelling to and periods at contractor sites is expected
  • Offshore work is expected

Technical and personal skills

  • University degree,preferably Master, in cybernetics/automation or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering, Fabrication and Operation of subsea production systems
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within field development of offshore projects
  • Multi-disciplinary subsea knowledge and experience,preferably from both operators and contractors.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of all parts of a subsea control system
  • Broad experience with subsea projects of both front-end design aspects as well as construction/installation and commissioning experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Be familiar with typical design codes relevant to engineering, design, construction and installation of subsea control systems
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of relevant contractors and the latest market developments
  • Good knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and requirements relevant for NCS
