Senior Project Planner for Operator Company


  • Planner will be responsible for ensuring that the planning function, processes, and products are in line with corporate requirements.
  • Planner will seek to ensure that each of the project schedules are integrated across all work scopes and disciplines.
  • Preparation of the Master Control Schedule (MCS)
  • Timely delivery of the monthly schedule updates against the MCS
  • Alignment between schedule and change control
  • Building excellent working relationships within the team

Project Plan Management:

  • Independently develop and manage detailed project schedules, in line with corporate requirements (example: schedules for studies, critical paths, Work Breakdown Structures, resource loading etc), by using Primavera P6 planning tool
  • Organise and chair project planning meetings with contractors and internal departments involved in the planning process
  • Work closely with the rest of the team and ensure that project schedules are suitably prepared for Cost & Schedule Risk Analysis
  • Integrate and challenge contractors’ schedules and progress

Project Reporting:

  • Develop KPI’s related to schedule and how to monitor these
  • Preparation and publication of project schedules within the document management system
  • Analyse and report progress, deviations to management and proactively highlight issues / risks and propose mitigations
  • Define baseline plans and compare progress achieved
  • Verify and document any schedule changes

Standardisation, Compliance and Simplification:

  • Ensure compliance to corporate and regulatory requirements related to planning and scheduling
  • Proactively propose ways for how to simplify and strengthen planning processes, systems & tools and propose improvements / changes to Company standards.
  • Proactively seek benchmarking data and report key findings related to matters which confirms the current approach or needs for adjustments

Technical and personal skills

  • Able to draw on broad knowledge of Norwegian field developments and regulatory requirements
  • Understand engineering from concept to detailed design and execution
  • Multitask and work on multiple projects, and prioritise work thereafter
  • Communicate at multiple levels and disciplines within and outside the team
  • Ideally offshore construction and offshore brownfield experience
  • Integrated planning experience
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6
  • Solid analytical basis, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Independent, proactive and collaborative
  • Open to challenge and prepared to challenge others in a positive manner
  • Degree level in Engineering discipline or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience in establishing & operating project planning within engineering and construction field (preferably the oil & gas industry)
  • Experience of offshore modifications to existing platforms and subsea installation
  • Certification within Primavera P6 in a benefit
