QA/QC Engineer, Drilling & Wells for Operator Company

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the D&W Quality Management system and other related documentation.
  • Input to the relevant project specific risk registers and risk management plans for Quality Complexity topics.
  • Implementation of project specific Quality Plan and related Assurance Schedule.
  • Set up, and if required, manage Corrective and Preventive Actions from Quality Activities.
  • Record and follow up all QAQC incidents (NCRs, deviations and dispensations), request Root Cause Failure Analysis and issuing Lessons Learned Notifications.
  • Effectively using and maintaining systems for Quality Management, Non-Conformance, Improvement and Action tracking.
  • Ensure Quality standards are aligned with industry best practice and corporate requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of the management system with current and new legislation/standards.
  • Responsible for identifying the need for, and carrying out Performance Standard measurements on Quality.
  • Review, advise, audit and report on Quality performance across the business taking a risk based approach to determining focus areas and improvement actions.
  • Providing advice and support in standard setting and evaluation of supplied materials / services.
  • Develop and execute contract quality programmes in accordance with Contract and/or Projects Execution Plan arrangements.
  • Tendering support in terms of Quality evaluation of potential suppliers when required.
  • Support the delivery of audits, both internally and externally on suppliers.
  • Responsible for promoting activities that improve Quality performance.
  • Advising on Quality non-conformances and improvement areas.
  • Ensure there has been suitable and sufficient follow up of audit findings and Quality non-conformance actions.
  • Attend project meetings as required to provide quality support and advice according to QA/QC deliverables.
  • Liaise with the Client Quality Representative from key service providers as appropriate.
  • Review and approve product/material requisitions and validate quality control and certification requirements.
  • Assign and coordinate product/material inspection activities in accordance to the specifications set out in purchase orders, datasheets, drawings and client specifications/ requirements, Inspection & Test plans.
  • Coordinate third party vendor inspection visits, review and distribution of inspection reports.
  • Review and validation of quality control activities to verify product/service meets stipulated requirements.
  • Interface with appointed independent verification authority as required.

Technical and personal skills

  • Engineering discipline (preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Quality Advisory role within the Oil and Gas sector
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Management principals.
  • Extensive knowledge of advising and managing Quality within a project environment, preferably Drilling and Wells projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of advising and managing Quality within the Oil and Gas industry
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
