P&A Engineer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Apply and support HSE and Q best practises in planning of well operations
  • Deliver planning and support of well operations
  • Optimize available resources during planning and execution of well operations
  • Expand of individual knowledge / participation in synergy and experience transfer
  • Apply Schedule & Cost performance analysis
  • Comply to regulatory and corporate policy
  • Administrate allocated Service contracts
  • Plan safe, environmental sound and efficient well operations through collaborative efforts following the Well Design & Delivery Process and related policies/requirements
  • Ensure well design and operations comply with corporate management standards and regulatory requirements 
  • Provide technical support during operations (includes duty requirements/offshore as needed)
  • Track, analyse and investigate issues to improve operational performance
  • Provide input for risk assessment and mitigation plans
  • Monitor and analyse operational progress against plans and follow up on significant problems with corrective actions actions
  • Develop accurate cost estimates inclusive of appropriate contingency and monitor
  • Recommend implementation of new techniques and practices and conduct feasibility studies for new design
  • Document and champion lessons learned
  • Prepare and archive relevant documentation for well operations
  • Support delivery of reporting to offshore, management, authorities
  • Administrate allocated service contracts and procedures
  • Perform duty as required per Duty Guidelines
  • Assist the Drilling Supervisor in the coordination of offshore requirements and day-to-day events
  • Provide offshore support by holding pre-spud meetings, and assistance during critical drilling and workover operations, such as casing/cementing jobs

Technical and personal skills

  • Master/Petroleum Engineer Degree or relevant education or experience
  • Sufficient computer skills to fluently use office applications and wells engineering software
  • Completed company specific training requirements for position
  • Able to think of new systems and new ways to work; being creative and ask
  • Understand mathematical analysis, calculus, and other mathematics for design and troubleshooting
  • Ability to understand mechanical concepts and processes easily, as well as use of equipment and tools
  • Able to work to develop new solutions to problems; skills to identify the source of the problem, create, and test solutions are needed
  • Be part of a team in developing systems, fixing problems or creating solutions
  • Able to communicate plans, thoughts, and rationale in the job
