Process Engineer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory and Company compliance.
  • Selection and evaluation of technology, indentifying integration and infrastructure issues.
  • Follow up contractors’ evaluation of technology and provide necessary interface with Operations during design stages.
  • Present proposals and alternative solutions when required.
  • Report and process requests for technical deviations.
  • Participate in the project risk, planning and budget process.
  • Attend technical audits as requested by Management.
  • Process technical queries and requests for technical deviations.
  • Report technical deviations.
  • Review the development of the process and controls premises to ensure that the design is safe, operable and efficient.
  • Review engineering drawings and relevant documents prepared by the design contractor.
  • Attend inter-discipline technical meetings, including interface meetings.
  • Monitor performance of the design contractor’s process design team.
  • Provide engineering support and data of existing facilities to design contractor.
  • Participate in the development of operation, maintenance and start-up philosophies and plans.
  • Participate in the project risk management process.
  • Review Management of Change documentation.
  • Coordinate communication with Operations regarding process issues.
  • Provide engineering input to procurement process.
  • Participate in relevant Factory Acceptance tests (FAT).
  • Ensure all Process project activities are performed in accordance with the Company procedure for work on process systems
  • Participate in HAZID and HAZOP meetings.
  • Actively support other disciplines to ensure interdisciplinary coherence and experience transfer.

Technical and personal skills

  • MSc. Engineer in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
    Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5-10 years project experience from subsea development projects including gas-condensate reservoirs. Understanding of commissioning, start-up and operational requirements with regard to subsea design.
  • Project Experience from Norwegian North Sea. In depth knowledge of relevant industry codes and standard.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in English and Norwegian Language.
  • Strong commercial skills and business driver understanding to manage and direct the execution of engineering works and interfaces between contractors.
  • Good interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills, both internally to the project and with contractors.
  • Strong commitment to the implementation of Company’s health, safety, environmental and quality philosophies.
  • Experience and ability to work in multi-disciplined teams and interfacing with internal organizations and external Contractor organizations.
