Production Engineer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing oil production through production optimization via gas lift allocation, choke and valve settings, and well routing optimization
  • Ownership of well testing process, including quality control and prioritization
  • Identification and execution of production enhancement activities including well intervention activities
  • Construction and maintenance of well models and production engineering surveillance processes
  • New well flowbacks and subsequent drawdown management
  • Periodic travel offshore to oversee activities and establish/maintain good working relations
  • Gas lift design, artificial lift studies, and production engineering strategic planning
  • Support of well integrity surveillance and initiatives
  • Production and injection optimization during simultaneous operations including drilling and intervention
  • Identification and tracking of production deferrals
  • Periodically leading multidiscipline teams to identify production enhancement opportunities

Technical and personal skills

  • MS in petroleum engineering
  • Business unit experience and experience with carbonate reservoirs
  • Perforating and acid stimulation / re-stimulation design
  • Decline curve analysis and production forecasting
  • Well performance analysis through use of pressure transient analysis
  • Providing production engineering support for development drilling – rotary and/or coiled tubing drilling
  • Ability to provide technical mentoring to less experienced production engineers
  • Working knowledge of waterflood design and operations, well construction, and well integrity
  • Self-driven. Strong personal leadership and drive toward teamwork.
  • Good communicator. Good influencing, negotiating and networking skills. Builds strong relationships across functions and departments.
