Global Category Buyer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Global Category Buyer for Well Construction, part of Supply Chain Subsurface team
  • Support the Global Category Manager in developing category and subcategory strategies, monitor supplier markets, create demand forecasts, analyze spend, assess suppliers, identify and act on opportunities for added value
  • lmplement activities defined in the category strategies, including agreeing final specifications and setting commercial conditions, define critical performance factors, manage tender processes, evaluation of proposals, conducting final negotiations up to contract award
  • Manage contracts and follow up suppliers with regards to adherence to contractual conditions, contract variations/amendments; handle disputes and claims;
  • Manage supplier relationships; monitor supplier performance, support the drive for continuous improvement and supplier development, collect supplier feedback, reduce the cost of poor quality and non-productive time (NPT), optimize supply chain processes;
  • For larger capitaI projects and operations, be part of the project organization, establish a project procurement strategy, coordinate between the project and the supply chain organization, provide supply chain reports, manage non-conformities
  • Responsible for HSEQ excellence by conducting HSEQ activities incl. quality, process safety & environmental engineering

 

Technical and personal skills

  • Master’s degree in relevant field of study (economics, engineering, legal) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in strategic procurement in the E&P industry
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of the Well Construction category
  • Knowledge of global markets within the relevant category; extensive knowledge of the NCS market in particular
  • Knowledge of contract management (contracting skills, applicable law, lncoterms)
  • Experience from or knowledge of methods for development of procurement strategies, specification assessments, tender management, tender evaluation, risk management, supplier management, internal business partner management, logistics I supply chain management, operational procurement
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian 
  • Excellent negotiation skills with proven records
  • Flexible and willing to travel (at times extensively)
