Cost Engineer for Operator Company

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the projects within cost control and engineering, follow-up of decommissioning and development projects.
  • The role requires constant interface with major project contractors, the company PMT and the company finance department to ensure that both project and corporate reporting requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner
  • Cost control and cost engineering within the projects
  • Establish Cost Breakdown Structure (“CBS”) for the Project within NOROG and Company requirements in co-operation with the project controls team
  • Prepare Project Budgets – update budget revisions, monthly reports and forecast in PIMS
  • Establish and follow-up AFE’s where required in co-operation with the finance department
  • Follow-up and perform deviation reporting – daily cost tracker
  • Coordinate relevant cost information with the Contractors and the finance department
  • Develop forecasting and cashflow projections parameters
  • Advise all stakeholders and management on all cost related matters
  • Update cost, forecast, budget, commitments and monthly reporting in PIMS
  • Assistance within management reporting, forecasting and cash-flow in PIMS Cost module
  • Prepare input for accruals and cash calls.
  • Propose necessary improvement in systems and procedures
  • Follow up the contracts with suppliers (Requisitions, PO’s, compensation, variation order request)
  • Maintain the Contracts module in PIMS
  • Support assessment of the manpower budgets
  • Evaluate possible cost impact of changes and variation order requests
  • Prepare and update different cost estimates (CAPEX, OPEX, ABEX), and assist the cost risk assessment and cost updates ahead of the decision gates

Technical and personal skills

  • Master in Business & Administration or equivalent
  • Experience from the Oil- and Gas Industry
  • Subsea Tie-Back projects
  • Decommissioning projects
  • Cost control within Drilling
  • Experience with PIMS is an advantage
  • Flexible, detail oriented, proactive
  • Self-going
  • Experienced Excel User
  • Must be willing to take a flexible approach to wider work scope as required within a small team
